A leading authority on leadership development, strategic planning, organizational change and technology management, Alan has worked with many of the Fortune 500 companies including Cisco Systems, Pfizer, IBM, Procter & Gamble, General Motors and others across a wide variety of industries in North America, South America, Europe and Japan.  He works with organizational leaders to develop, communicate and implement strategies and to create cultures and practices that build high levels of individual innovation, productivity and spirit.

Co-author of The Middle Management Challenge:  Moving from Crisis to Empowerment (McGraw–Hill, 1993), Alan is the author of Directing Strategy: The Keys to High Performance (Prentice-Hall, 1992) and has contributed to professional business journals including Harvard Business Review and California Management Review.

Alan received a B.A. degree from the University of Rochester and holds an M.S. and Ph.D. from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.  He serves as a director of a number of technology companies and non-profit organizations.
